About AI tracks
What do you actually fix on an AI track?
The giveaway on AI tracks is almost always the same four things: harsh upper mids,
thin or unnatural drums, a muddy low end, and vocals sitting slightly off the grid.
We fix all four, then master to commercial level. What comes back translates on phone
speakers, car systems and club rigs.
Which AI generators do you work with?
Any of them. Suno and Udio are the most common, but the process is the same for
anything that exports audio — including home recordings and voice notes. If you can
play it, we can finish it.
Do I need stems?
No. We work from a single stereo file all the time. If you have stems — or the vocal on
its own — send them too, because the more we have the better the result. Stems just
mean we have more to work with, not that we require them.
What files should I send you?
The best export you can get — a WAV or high-bitrate MP3 from Suno, Udio or wherever it
was generated. If you have separate stems, or the vocal on its own, send those too. For
anything large, a Dropbox, Google Drive or WeTransfer link is easier than an attachment.
Can you make my track louder?
Turning a track up is easy and it's the wrong answer. Loudness without balance is what
makes AI tracks sound cheap. We balance first, then master to the correct target — so
the difference survives on a phone speaker, not just on studio monitors.
Mixing, mastering and loudness
What's the difference between mixing and mastering?
Mixing balances the individual parts — vocals, drums, bass, instruments — so the song
sounds like one piece. Mastering is the final polish on that finished mix: tone,
loudness and consistency, so it holds up next to everything else on a streaming
platform. A release normally needs both.
Why does loudness matter?
That is the whole job. We master to each platform's target — around -14 LUFS for Spotify
and YouTube, -16 LUFS for Apple Music — so your track plays at the same perceived level
as the commercial releases around it, without the distortion that comes from pushing it
too hard. True peak is limited to -1 dBTP so no codec mangles it.
Do you need to make several masters?
Only when it helps. Most tracks are fine as a single streaming master. Radio, club and
TV delivery often need their own version, and we'll tell you when that's the case and
quote it up front.
What do I get back?
A 24-bit WAV master, a high-quality MP3 for sharing, a radio or instrumental version
where you need one, and a metadata sheet with your title, artist name and ISRC so your
distributor can put it live without questions.
Ownership, payment and delivery
Do I keep ownership of my song?
Always. You keep 100% ownership of your song. We work on it, hand it back, and make no
claim to your master or your publishing.
Is the price really fixed before I commit?
Yes. We assess the track, tell you exactly what it needs, and quote a fixed price before
any work starts. No hourly billing and no surprises on the invoice.
How do I pay?
Order now, pay on invoice. We accept EFT, card and cash at the studio. Full payment is
due on delivery.
How long does it take?
Free quote within 24 hours on weekdays. Single tracks are usually delivered in 3 to 5
working days, and a ten-track album in 10 to 15 working days. Rush options are
available on request.
Do you work with clients outside South Africa?
Absolutely. Everything is handled online — upload your track, approve the quote, and
download your masters when they're done. We work with clients across South Africa and
internationally, and we quote in Rand.
Can I hear it before I pay in full?
Yes — where a change is significant enough to show, we'll send you a before/after so you
can hear exactly what the work did before you commit to anything.
Still have a question? Just ask.
Send us a track and a sentence about what you need. We'll answer it straight.
